PayBox Now ReBranded Into VirtaPay, Still A Scam?

PayBox.me Has Finished It’s Re-branding, Hello VirtaPay

As they have been saying on their blog for a couple weeks now PayBox has finally finished the change to it’s new name “VirtaPay”. As I and many other savvy internet marketers noticed when PayBox was first opened in September of last year, the name PayBox was already a trademark of another company. The other company called Sybase is a large international and multi-billion dollar publicly traded company and many marketers, myself included, speculated that PayBox would have to change its name or face lawsuits. Now we have VirtaPay, a name which doesn’t seem to conflict with established trademarks. There are a lot of VirtuaPay websites, credit cards and payment systems, so remember there’s no u in the new name, it’s just VirtaPay. I could be wrong, but I’m guessing that the similarity was intentional.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about there are several articles on this site and you can also go to virtapay.com. So now, six months after they opened where does that leave us with VirtaPay’s progress? First, members have been voting on debit card designs since late last year. No word yet on any winners and I haven’t heard of anyone being issued a debit card. According to VirtaPay it is still a closed system and VirtaPay currency can only be exchanged in person to person transactions between members. VirtaPay states that they still have to open up the system in order for the VirtaPay virtual currency to be spent at online merchants.

So When Will VirtaPay Currency Be Spendable?

It may take a long time, if ever, for VirtaPay currency to have any value. On their blog VirtaPay says that once the re-branding is complete they will take steps to make the currency exchangeable for digital goods. I’m assuming they mean things like e-books, scripts, software etc,. However, I have also read that VirtaPay would like to have 2-5 million users before online merchants would “take the currency seriously” (I’m paraphrasing a little).  The last numbers I saw was an estimate saying they had about 300,000. So it is possible that they will never reach the 2 million member target. If anyone saw different numbers or if someone from VirtaPay is reading this, please post in the comments section below this article.

How Is VirtaPay A Scam When It’s Free To Join?

The word “scam” means a lot of different things to different people. VirtaPay (at least right now) WILL NOT steal your money. But they do make money off of you in other ways. When you sign up they do put your email on their list, which you internet marketers know has value to them. I was told by some other members that there are pushing several other marketing programs, of which I’m sure VirtaPay receives referral commissions from. You are also asked to subscribe to their blog. In addition, up until a few months ago, they had Google adsense on the site and asked members to log in everyday to complete tasks while they were also gaining revenue from those members clicking on advertisements. Whether you think its a scam or not, their terms of service that you agree to when you sign up guarantees that VirtaPay is not doing anything illegal. It also makes it so the VirtaPay currency never has to have any value and they can just keep getting revenue from their user base without delivering the actual payment system they boast about.

Any facts or statistics that are incorrect or new ones that you’d like to add, please leave them in the comments section below. And please let me know if you think VirtaPay is a scam or not, if you still believe in it you may also leave your referral link.

You are really that dumb thinking that Virtapay is a scam??? Read about the same Paypal and how long it took them to become "real currency" acceptable worldwide. Stupid people...
  • bbeti
I dont know about you guys but I think virtapay is for real and it just needed time to get organized before launching, I can smell scam thousand miles away and virtapay is not one of them!
  • Sean7789
This has to be a scam, I have almost $4500. in VertaPay  currency and it still is worth nothing, now they want you to buy a Clickbank product through their affiliate link, supposedly for you to have a opportunity to maybe make a commission, yeh right.
This is just a waste of time, they are the only ones that are gaining Real Money through all of this. When are their loyal followers going to see money in their bank accounts? They are laughing all the way to the bank.
  • Georgeat8
Virtapay now has a new membership, where you have to ACTIVATE AD SHARING to become a premium member. They are asking you for a small fee to ACTIVATE this. If they have 150,000 or up to 300,00 members, even if the SMALL FEE is $ 1-00 then that would be $ 300,000-00 to ACTIVATE this new AD sharing membership!! If the SMALL FEE is more than that, say $ 5-00, then they could stand a chance to make a fortune. You now have to ACTIVATE AD SHARING to become a premium member!  Now you have to pay and use your credit card, which they will have a record of. I am now very skeptical of this lot, maybe you should all be. Check all of this out first!!!!

Be very very careful my friend, their VirtaPay Money is not worth the risk of Identity Theft......
  • Andrejkapr
Use Paypal and NO personal data would be transferred. You are really that dumb thinking that Virtapay is a scam??? Read about the same Paypal and how long it took them to become "real currency" acceptable worldwide.

Thanks for your wonderful article on VirtaPay. A total scam. As mentioned by you, they are talking about some ad sharing program. To be part of it, one needs to purchase some stupid stuff that they mention. Lets say as of now there are 300000 members. They want each to purchase some digital stuff to be part of this. I guess this digital product costs about $10. So 300000 multiplied by 10 is like $3 million. This scammer should be reported.

Thanks for the post.  I received an email message from one of their members, and your post was quite helpful.

John O. I don"t think they are going anywhere with their concepts, none of the big marketers have gone with them that i know of and a lot have got in and got out and so far i feel i have wasted my time. They offer no sincerity, no support, no source of real identity, and not flashing any dollars to people who have spent a lot of time spreading the word among social sites. They want you to spend on their ads but you can't spend Virtapay dollars as real dollars, they want you to join Facebook and Clickbank and spend your real money at Clickbank.
  • Aaaa
i guess this is someone who wanted to get people to read/click his adsense ads! Hehe..funny what a man can think....he/she/they created this system making people visiting site everyday and see their imaginary balance while virtapay gets the real one...:)
  • Dave G.
Look up their Google Analytics ID — it is linked to 6 other websites, 4 of them Nigerian…country linked to known scams…
They got their Adsense account banned, and tried to save face by saying ‘they didn’t need it no more — it served its purpose’…who on God’s green earth would kick Adsense out of their monetary loop, especially a ‘Top 1000′ site drawing tons of traffic? Come on…

The goal of websites like this is to harvest traffic…nothing more. They offer some phony-ass currency and give users a place to put links — which increases popularity rather quickly. It is a really weak marketing scheme, really…however, if you are following anything that goes on with Virtapay (or Paybox, Or GreenZap), you will see that soon they will allow bank accounts to be linked and more than likely have you agree they can make debit and credit entries, which amounts to them having PERMISSABLE PURPOSE to drain your bank account!!

I won’t stop until they are shut down. Anyone down with me can email me and I will give you all the info I have collected on them since their inception.

VirtaPay is a dirty scam. It has recently changed its login procedure. It has made it mandatory to log on using facebook account only, but they do not relate your FaceBook username with the old username that you used on VirtaPay. So, everything is lost.

They do not even have a "Contact Us" page. So, you cannot even ask them about what happened to the money you had earned so far in VirtaPay. Its a scam, and that too, not intelligently designed.
  • KeN
Excruse me~ can i ask something? it's this virtapay can use to pay for example like play online game use this virtapay can pay????

There is nothing such as free lunch. Most of the people are innocent. Few people are clever and find the way to take benefit from these people. How I stumbleupon this site, because I also want to know about this site. The amount this site distributing is not possible for the richest person or any company, even for a few month.

    We are fools.
  • virtapay is making fool of everyone, but they do not realise that they are the biggest fool
  • virtapay will open to public in 2067, till then they run adsharing. It is stupid that if anyone has to promote clickbank product then why use virtapay and get 50% profit, instead promote directly and keep 100% profit.

I'm REALLY starting to feel that this Virtapay is a BIG SCAM!!! I and my teenagers have been doing this Virtapay for a very long time now, and the "sellers" they have on their site are...rather I should say I and my family can't use any of that crap!!! I'm seriously feeling it's a scam, and that they are making fools out of us while they profit bigtime off of us!!!!
  • Melan
We really don't know if Virtapay is a SCAM or what!!!, but it you really believe it is really a SCAM, then stop doing it, don't sign up for it, besides they dont force you to sign up or log in everyday. You better find a better money processor that pays you in fast way, then share it with us, Just quit saying all these crap!!!!!!!
  • Anonymous
You guys keep spamming Virtapay with useless nonsense so thats why they put the facebook login on there but I think its temporary until they get stage 2 done. I think I need a prepaid cell phone for as cheap as $7.00 dollars free shipping and handling.
  • Anti Scam
Guys, this is a scam, once you register on their website they earn money not us. They get paid once you register & so on. It's like advertising and we clicked on it. And now the have a new feature which is a addon to your Facebook account. Once you link them to your Facebook account, once again they will earn money. There not much infomation on how to contact them & etc, so be more careful.

They also can earn our money from our *Internet Data Plan* once you clicked.
  • Sean7789
Not just that, they will also gain even more by promoting to your Facebook friends and family, with all of this skepticism, they should be a little more transparent with their followers. I've been with them from the beginning, and all that I can do is smile when I think about how long I've been with them with a still empty bank account to show for it.
  • thewatcher
OK people. Wake Up!. VirtaPay is not a payment processor, nor will it ever be one. Those of you who have thousands of 'dollars' in your VP account of course would LOVE for this site to be for real. Are you kidding? Who is the owner? Where are they located? How do you contact the admin of the site if there is a problem with your account? You can not answer these questions because there is NO INFO AVAILABLE!! What kind of site that is dealing in 'money' or the sale of goods has no way to contact the admin? And now they want you to use your Facebook account to log in to the site!! Yeah, right. Use at your own risk!
  • The_Jackyl40
Well I agree with you 100% when they first launch it as PayBox they said they would give $50 just to join and and got paid for ref, well I say when you use this sign $ you have already committed fraud because that symbol represents Money, and sense there is no value to it, then it's fraud, In all there stupid sev- people took ask how would you like your funds from paybox and they would give you a debit card check box, to give the impression that hey they are going to put earnings on a debit card, everyone assumed that, and Paybox never answer any of your questions when you wrote support "NEVER"  I know it's fake as a 3 dollar bill, I took the opportunity to take advantage of their rules about making second account they said you would be caught and the accounts deleted well I created 180 accounts with free email accounts and made up a few and still got the $50 in each account and tranfered it all to one account then transfer that to a friend and he transferred it to me..they Never deleted any of the accounts because they doun't intend to launch it so there for it really don't matter,,,Yes when they started emailing their marketing scam to over 300 thousand members I new then it was a scam, they was looking for a massive email list and very responsive I might ad, because the told everyone to buy a program that had reoccurring monthly income for them, that System they recommended was Maverick Money Makers , has a monthly membership fee of 99.00 very nice commission for paybox owner a nice fat commission because over 50 thousand members bought into the B-S, I just stayed a member of Paybox  AKA VirtaPay to see what scam they cook up next, I have 482, thousand VirtaPay dollars I don't for see them ever launching for real, and their damn sure not going to transfer that on any debit card NEVER....it would be great if they did I would have a half a million dollars, I would be happy if they gave me 0.10 cents on a dollar, but they won't because they are a hard core scam, bottom of the barrel scum...Yea I heard they had close to 400,000 member's but I know for fact 180 are fake, and I know others that did the same thing, VirtaPay gets a thumbs down, don't join   ,
  • Rharya
I have more than 25000 dollar in my VP account, I don't think VP will pay me..can you imagine if 1 guy have 10000 US$ multiply by more than 300.000 member..from were this money will come from to pay all member?
  • SJ
In all honesty, I signed up for this because I cannot stand PayPal. However, after months and months of waiting around I am not convinced that this is ever going to do anything. As for the 'digital' things that are available to buy… complete and utter meaningless trash. I had wanted to be able to use VirtaPay in place of PayPal to sell eBooks, but having seen the extent of the low quality and meaningless trash that is attracted to VP; to use VP would be too damaging to the brand I am trying to develop. Which leaves me in something of a quandry. Do I continue to log in and wait for this thing to become live, having accumulated some three thousand VirtaPay dollars? Or do I ditch it before they ask me to use my Facebook details as the log in? That is potentially much more serious, that would allow them access to my friends too...
  • leachim
I have same thoughts and feelings about this.  They keep on setting up our expectations to the dregs.  I already have more that $ 2,000   in my VP account and  since Feb.  I already figured out that this is just a waste of time and effort to pursue cosidering all articles read and available on the net. Thanks to the rev page articles and infos.  Now it even make my hesitation stronger when VP wants us to log in using our FB account for thedm to exploit.  Their promises are full of lies and schemes. People already know about this but just won't accept it and still hoping to gain value at their own risk.
  • WonderMan
I hate when people sell stupid things on virtapay and spam it up. It is and WAS annoying. If your selling something like music or artwork anything thats not prohibited from there terms of services then do that.

I read the thing and this person wants you to give him and he will receive and return the favor. He's the type that wont return the favor dude. Dont make a claim about a site unless you do your homework more indepth. Epic Fail.
  • Anonymous
Theres a site called wiredpay. Epic Fail For Judgemental Contradiction. LOL!!!!
  • Anonymous
This has NOTHING to do with virtapay PERIOD!!!!! Everyone contradicts the sites launch because they wont launch right away. This guy commited these things in the early 2000's dude. So your saying he would build a virtapay website, work hard to get stage 1 in gear so we can test the selling and buying and now working on stage 2 just to scam us?
  • The_jackyl40
Yes, he is after your email he is building a massive list, haven't you noticed an increase in junk mail from marketers trying to sale you something, they have you on about 40 different mailing list selling different things from Push button software to make money systems, when you unsubscribe to one they transfer your email to another one of their email mailers, and if you are stuburn enough and un-subscribe to all of them as the emails roll in, then they sale your email to another company that bombards you with junk email, and when you un scribe to them they say Please wait 24 to 48 hours to be removed that gives them time to gather all the unsubscribers and sale them to someone else who then will start sending more crap, Yes Virta Pay is a scam, I have over 480,000 virta pay dollars DO YOU REALLY THINK they will give me real money, or was you actually born yesterday, I don't mean to sound hateful,,But Really--Really

"This account has been terminated for violating our Terms of Service.
Reasons may include: Posting prohibited items; abusing server resources; etc."

I never posted any item and my only activities on this site was to log in every day, check the blog for news and i only bought 1 item - how can I violate TOS doing this ? It's obviously some random closing account, since everyone receive free money in their balance every day. I had more than $200 before suspension.
