Accidents at work are something that everyone wants to avoid. They are difficult for companies to deal with, people to have to go through them, and for government agencies to investigate. As a result of these issues, among other things, all parties work to try to reduce the amount of accidents that occur at work. Companies have been trained in handling accidents at work, and how to reduce them. Companies know that the person that they are paying is well worth it if they are successfully able to reduce the amount of accidents at work.

How are companies and people able to reduce these accidents? Educating their workers on the risks of certain tasks that they do and the safety procedures that are in place can really help, In addition, investing in safer technology, such as new and improved devices, can reduce the amount of accidents at work that workers have. In addition, workers will often make sure that they are practising safe things, because they don't want to get hurt. Workers that work in fields that are prone to high amounts of accidents at work will often take extra precautions. In addition, there are regulations that are put into place by the government, often on top of one's put into place by the company. Agencies such as departments of labour and other organizations were developed in order to monitor and work to prevent accidents at work. If these organizations find that there are violations which are causing more risk than necessary, they can tell the company to fix it and if there are serious violations there can be fines that can be imposed. Often times though, it is cheaper for the company to pay the fine than get sued by a worker that was injured at work. It can also serve as a warning for companies to enforce and revise their rules regarding accidents at work. This is because if there is an accident at work, the worker can be entitled to workman's compensation, which is an undetermined amount and varies on a case by case basis.
